Remedial & Sport-injuries Massage (RM1)
This was our first Post-graduate Course in the early 1990’s and, thanks to student-feedback, it has evolved considerably over the years. We wrote it in collaboration with Paul Blakey (author of ‘the muscle book’) and it was originally solely based on his book (reading it is still a pre-requisite before attending the Course).
We still work with individual muscles using origin and insertion techniques and nutrition but have added an introduction to postural analysis, trigger points, neuro-vascular holding points, additional remedial techniques where appropriate and guidance on whether to give clients stretching/strengthening exercises for recovering muscles working antagonistically within a muscle group. We have included plenty of illustrations to make it easier to refresh different techniques once you have finished the course.
This intensive 4-day Remedial and Sports Massage course is designed for those who have already qualified in Massage and/or Aromatherapy.
Remedial and Sports Massage addresses techniques which assist with such problems as, e.g. frozen shoulders, sciatica, back-problems, etc. The Remedial techniques shown are simple and effective and the course also explores which Essential Oils are the most useful in support of Remedial and Sport-injuries treatments.
This Course is also available as distance-learning.

Studies commence at 9.30 a.m. and finish at 5.30 p.m.
This course was originally formulated at the request of some of our ex-students who were frequently being asked by their Clients to help with problems with which they did not feel confident enough to tackle. As such, it has arisen from authentic 'field-problems' and has proved extremely beneficial to those who have subsequently used the techniques.
We have a unique way of looking at the muscular system insofar as we take each of the major muscles and look at various different approaches of helping that muscle to overcome injury or restriction.
Anatomy, Physiology and Massage Qualifications are prerequisite for this Course. 'the muscle book', by Paul Blakey, is prerequisite reading.
