We have put our COVID-19 Policy in place to address this unprecedented situation within which we all find ourselves.
Please note: The Government's guidance and legislation can change at any time and T.S.I. is working hard to keep abreast of such changes and to update our practises accordingly. It is our intention to keep our Students and Tutors both informed and safe. Therefore, due to the very nature of the virus it is possible that some course requirements might
change between booking and attendance. We will strive to update our Students as and when new information arises that gives us cause to alter our operations. We ask for you to 'bear with us' and for your patience and understanding as we work together towards protecting the health & wellbeing of us all.
Our Students can be reassured that we will continue to operate through these unprecedented times, e.g. our office is open during usual office hours, although due to the nature of our business,
some of our business practises are inevitably needing to be adapted to remain in line with changing government guidelines & legislation.
For Students who are members of an Association or other Governing body, please also check for information they will be sharing.
TSI COVID-19 Policy
Updated 11th October 2020
Please Note: Where an in-house course is cancelled/postponed/rescheduled by T.S.I., where force majeure and/or Changes in Law due to Covid-19 have NOT been the cause, our usual Terms will apply.
However, in either case, we shall not be liable for any arrangement(s) Students might have made to attend (a) course(s) should we be prevented from delivering such services to you by reasons beyond our control, e.g. Changes to Law, Course Cancellation/Postponement/Discontinuity, Act of God, Civil Unrest, Fire, Flood, Storm and other such circumstances which might affect the delivery of our services.
We have given careful thought as to how to deal fairly with the current COVID-19 situation. The resulting plan aims to support both Students and The S.E.E.D. Institute in ‘weathering the storm’.
Where, due to changes to government guidelines/restrictions/Changes in Law, neither Students nor T.S.I. are permitted to convene for in-house training, courses will be cancelled or postponed and rescheduled when it is safe to do so.
Where a Student cancels outside of our usual Terms & Conditions; our usual terms and conditions state the fee would be forfeited. However, if the cancellation is directly caused by Covid-19, e.g. the Student's place of residence is an area under local lockdown,
then, at the discretion of T.S.I., the Student's fees will not be forfeited, rather they will be held as a credit until such time as the Student is able to attend a future course date.
Where, due to government guidelines/restrictions/Changes in Law, T.S.I. is forced (force majeure) to cancel/postpone/reschedule (a) course(s), T.S.I. will liaise with Students to rearrange a mutually convenient date. However, upon request, such monies will
be transferred to an alternative course, held as a credit, or refunded. Refunds will be less 10% of the full course fee to contribute to administration costs already incurred.
Where courses have not yet resumed in-house, we are offering, where possible, AT NO ADDITIONAL COST to students, 1:1 training via video link or group Webinars to cover the theory for Course/s on which Students are already booked. Such Students
will still attend the FULL in-house Course as per usual when we can reschedule for in-house training.
We hope that, where applicable, this additional training will afford Students the opportunity to make a start on their studies and to maintain their focus during this crisis.
N.B. It is the Student's choice whether to take up this additional training or, if preferred, to wait and attend the Course in-house when in-house training can resume.
If you have not heard from us about your course, please contact the office for information.
Other operations will continue as usual. e.g. Usual Office Opening Hours, Marking of Course work, Advice & Guidance for Students' Case-studies and Practice advice
Health and Wellbeing will be playing an increasingly important role as the COVID-19 situation develops and we want to offer our support in the current climate by assisting both our Students and our Clients
to manage their stress and anxiety levels wherever we can. Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you need support.
In addition to the usual back up and support we offer all of our T.S.I. students, we are, during this COVID-19 situation, offering 1:1 online assistance for Students who feel they would benefit from such support at this time.
E.g. Have you fallen away from your Diploma studies? Are you behind with your Massage-log, your Case-studies etc? Would you benefit from some support to get your studies 'back on track'?
It might be that you just need a chat, a chance to share your concerns and would find it supportive to use this time to discuss any queries that you have.
However we can support you - let us know. This time can be used positively and these 1:1 sessions would be without charge.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to questions we are frequently being asked - please contact us if your query is not answered below.
Please can you advise what Covid-19 precautions will be in place whilst attending training?
T.S.I continuously updates our Risk Assessment to ensure that it is robust and follows the latest government guidelines for best practice. Please contact us via e-mail or telephone should you have any questions.
Will I lose my money if I can't attend the course/s and have to cancel outside of your usual Terms & Conditions.
Not if the reasons for non-attendance are directly caused by Covid-19 for example:
your area of residence is in a local lockdown
you have tested positively for Covid-19
you're told to self-isolate by NHS Test & Trace
In these extraordinary circumstances, your fee(s) will be held as a credit on your account to be used against (a) rescheduled course date(s).
If requested, will you refund my payment(s) following cancellation/postponement/rescheduling of (a) course(s) due to government restrictions/legislation?
This situation would constitute force majeure and we are asking Students, where possible, to be mutually supportive. i.e. for Students' fees to be held as a credit to be used against (a) rescheduled course(s) date(s). This will support T.S.I. in also 'weathering the storm'. However, should a Student request a refund, the refund issued will be less 10% of the full course fee to contribute to administration costs already incurred.
May I still book on courses whilst a lock down is in place?
Yes. You may still book on courses as usual through our website and be reassured that, should changes to government legislation force (force majeure) T.S.I. to cancel/postpone/reschedule the course(s) and/or prevent a Student from attending, our Covil-19 Policy would apply.
Will we still be able to contact T.S.I. to discuss Coursework, receive advice about clients etc.?
Yes. Our office will be open as usual, (unless we fall ill) albeit with less staff, please bear with us.
What can I do about my CPD training being overdue and required for my renewal with my governing body?
Please check with your particular association. Most are either giving extensions or accepting Distance-learning Qualifications (as guided by the CNHC) or both.
How do I find out if a course I am booked on has the additional 1:1 tutorial facility or Webinar offered via video-link?
If you haven’t heard from us about your course, please contact our Head Office for information.
What if I don’t want to attend the 1:1 sessions or webinar for the course on which I am booked?
That is totally your choice as these are in addition to the usual in-house training. You can attend the course in-house as soon as any restrictions have been lifted.
I am really anxious about what is going on, may I contact you for advice?
Yes, please contact us so that we can assist you.
My First Aid Certificate needs renewing. What am I supposed to do?
In these unprecedented circumstances, The Health & Safety Executive has granted an extension of 3 months which will then be reviewed.
